You can't make this stuff up.

Oh man, I've worked in retail for a few years now. Similar things happen all the time!

I have begun dreading the "stupid look" that is (usually) followed immediately by the "stupid question that makes no sense."

I understand your pain.

People who don't work retail don't realize how truly stupid the public can be.

Aww, I love stupid people.

I once convinced someone to go pre-order a pair of Wii balls (As per a reference to "gameinformer" magazine) and ended up laughing my ass of when they said "It's been about two months and I never got those Wii balls...."

Oh dear.... The "interesting" shopping populace is alive and well at anime cons, hmmm? Working retil, I feel your pain.

I love the little ducks in panel three! :D

New Comic and AMA

June 19:09:45 AM

Welcome readers from AMA!

...And such an appropriate comic for post AMA. Our table position in the alley was such that many people used us an an information booth, although truth be told, we wrote this comic before AMA.

It was a good con, we'll see if they invite us back. We got our first craftsmanship award for my Miyu costume/kimono - largely due to the ridiculous amount of hand sewing involved (and the tiny stitches I used for that purpose). And it was in the experienced category even :). So now we're up to three awards - the Judges Award at AB and Second Place at CTcon for our Saiyuki Shakespeare skit... And now a Craftsmanship award - which is the one we were gunning for.

Ah, the con-life.

ACtually, i've only been to about three different cons, but I go to otakon every year.

In either case, congrats on the awards!

I frequently walked by your table during the con. I was the one always wearing the dark clothes, tranch coat, shades and bokken.

It was fun, and I read all of your comics yesterday. Being a speed reader helps. I love the comic, thanks for the card!

So glad you all read/enjoyed/stopped by!

Can I just say how awesome Akiko is? Because she is. Increadibly, unbelievably awesome.

She's gone back and colored our 100-101 comics, and they look utterly fantastic. And DAMN my boys are HAWT in color. (so is Akiko's elf boy, for that matter, but you'll pardon me if I'm too busy drooling over my two bishies to notice much else).

Continuing the theme of just how awesome Akiko is, she even made me a wallpaper of that center image, so i can look at the pretty on my computer any time I want.

Akiko=the awesomest.

Comiku Girls #102

June 12:08:27 AM

We've had Intro-con, Disaster-con, Wheelchair-con, Cosplay-con, and now the start of our next story-arc, Pirate-Con! This new story-arc is a lot more free-form than our previous con story-arcs, and we're finally going to get to some individual comics that we had in mind for a while, and only now finding a time to slip it into the comic.

So for the next couple months, sit back and enjoy pretty boys in eyeliner, random fun with customers, and other non-anime cosplay antics, all coming soon.

101 comics!

June 5:11:08 AM

So this is the second of the two-part series to celebrate our 100th comic! Thanks to everyone who has stuck with us.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, you can see the original pencil art for the center image for this comic, as well as it's backstory, in my sketchbook section of my webpage (about 2/3 of the way down the page you'll find it.)

And yes, with my love of yaoi, how can ONE pretty boy possibly be enough for me?
