Ah spambots

February 27:10:32 AM

Spambots are starting to bother the entries again, so if we turn off comments on an entry it isnt personal. We still love you. The spambots were what took down our page a few months ago so ....

Can Akiko do an Animecon alone?

February 25:11:38 PM

Li has done anime cons by herself before. Katsukon 2006. Most of Connecticon 2005.

I went to Nekocon 2005 without her, but didn't do anything other than hang out with friends for a day, but none of our friends are going to be at Nohcon this weekend...

So I get to see whether I can man the table myself - hold down the fort. And hopefully make at least $30 in sales.

So if anyone is in the Greater Buffalo area next weekend (March 2 and 3) - you'll find me (Akiko) hanging out at the con and in the Artist's Alley. I'll have prints, be doing commissions, and most likely working on editing the comics for Comiku Girls (Reprise) as I haven't finished that project yet if you want to see what my 'process' is like in person. Or else just entertain me for a few minutes; I like to be entertained.

Aww, I wish I could go.

I remember I did Otakon 2001 by myself (it also being my first con).

Good luck Akiko-chan!

Comiku Girls Reprise #26

February 13:04:18 PM

This one requires a little bragging. Of all the comics we have (and are) editing, this one is the one that has been changed most substantially. Li completely redrew the final two panels, and then, using her original drawing for the comic, I completely reinked the comic - the two new panels and the two 'old' panels. We also tightened the script slightly in the course of editing it. The next few comics will be less substantially edited. We've also finalized the scripts for the first couple new comics, so Li will be hard at work on those while I continue editing our archive.

RE: #31 "something for free"

Have you noticed there is a shortage of catboys? All I see is catgirls or boy cats in anime and manga and internet comics.

*shrug* jus' a thought.

Posted by Zenzetra @ 02/19/2007 08:30 AM EST

The catboys that you see at cons tend to be jailbait as well. Pity.

Posted by Akiko @ 02/19/2007 03:41 PM EST

*Vee* but not forever!

I'm living proof that catboys do, in fact, hit the age barrier.

Actually... there seems ot be a shortage of gay and bi catboys. But that's another story.

Color! or if you prefer, Colour!

February 3:01:41 PM

Of course you won't see it until later this month, but we just finished coloring the first of the comics that were slated for the major upgrade. In most cases, as you can see, we've just cleaned things up a bit. But a couple, mostly our favourite comics, are getting the royal treatment and getting color. Unfortunately it takes me too long to be able to color every comic, or even to color all the new comics. So color will continue to be a special thing, but its part of the plan for a few more comics during our editing and updating process.

Yay! colour sounds like fun. =^n.n^=

Also.. In that last comic, is the cat talking....? =^O.o^=

Posted by zenzetra @ 02/06/2007 10:01 PM EST

Depends on the panel... In the first panel its me talking to myself. The poor cat's only line is "mew" in panel 3.

I see. At least you didn't slip that far into the crazies =^n.n^=

Posted by Zenzetra @ 02/07/2007 01:26 PM EST

Not quite. So far.

(Reprise comic 21)

Oh hey, I've had that happen to me!

I had to send a huge ten-foot sword that my friend bought to our hometown from baltimore.

It's probably not the same, seeing as I don't have cleavage, but I was wearing something rather thin.

Posted by Zenzetra @ 02/08/2007 12:39 PM EST

In Akiko's case, she was wearing her Yaone (Saiyuki) cosplay, which if you have seen from our comic is VERY low cut. And also just looks strange. Heh.

Posted by Li @ 02/08/2007 03:18 PM EST

Good times. It's not so bad when you run into "closet otaku" while wearing a costume. Things tend to get weird near "normal" people, hehe.
