Akiko and Li... Panelists!

January 31:07:06 PM

Li and I are in the process of putting together a press kit for conventions. This is basically a marketing document that tells convention programming directors about the panels we can run at a convention, in hopes that said conventions will then invite us to come. For this, it would be nice to have a few quotes from people who have been to our panels to include as part of our press kit.

So.... if any of you out there have been to one of our panels and would like to be quoted in our press kit, please leave it below.

(Japanese Tea Ceremony Demonstration, Kimonos and Yukatas, Asian Brush Painting, or Introduction to Jrock - these have been run at Connecticon, Anime Boston, and Bakaretsukon over the last two years).

Comiku Girls Reprise (1-4)

January 19:01:40 PM

Akiko: This is where it all started... Both literally and for the sake of the story. Only I wasn't drawing them. I just described these first three comics to Li... while still doing what we depict - suckering her into this project - and giving her all the hard work to do.

Li: I remember it really only took one night just after CTcon 2004, where we had spent the weekend hanging out with our con artist/webcomic artist friends and decided that we could do a webcomic... and with very little trouble we each convinced the other to go ahead with it.
I drew the first 3 comics while watching my friend's folk concert at a park out in Oregon. Fun times.

Akiko: You drew these out in Oregon? I thought we didn't go there until err... 2004...

Li: I drew them in Oregon. I remember drawing them while waiting for the concert to start. Chillin' with Santinaeo.

Akiko: I wasn't doubting you, I just didn't remember when you drew them.

Li: Don't try backing out of it now. You doubted me. I am hurt and offended.

Akiko: No you aren't but I'll give you Mochi anyway.

Li: Yay!

Akiko: ...And yes... we really can be like this...

Blows dust off the screen

January 18:08:04 PM

Yawns and stretches.

It's after New Year's isn't it?

That means sabbattical is over doesn't it?

Funny how fast time goes.

We are coming back. Since in the last year our lives have been pretty crazy, and I don't feel as though I really finished the last thirty because I never ink-washed them... we're going to edit the previous 95 (well, 96 is done but never made it online) and finish the ones that never got finished. A few will reappear in color when they were originally black and white as well. We plan to post them one-a-day for the next couple months while we build up our usual buffer of new strips, so that once our edited comics have run their course, we can continue immediately with plenty of new material (and not go on sabbatical again).
