Hana Yori Dango

Makino Tsukushi is a poor girl in the very rich, very prestigious Eitoku high school. all she wants to do is hurry up and graduate without really being noticed.

the F4, the four most rich and popular boys, rule the school absolutely. if anyone crosses them, they mark that person for a vicious all-school hazing, usually driving the poor victim from the school completely.

Makino wants to avoid the F4, but when her friend accidentally bumps into the leader, Doumyoji, Makino defends her friend and thus is tagged herself. Makino struggles against the hazing, but finds strength in the vague compassion of another F4 member, the quiet Hanazawa. Makino stands up for herself, and, proving that she won't give up, she tags Doumyoji and declares war for herself.

Doumyoji becomes interested in this girl that won't give in. Makino finds herself between Doumyoji and Hanazawa. throughout the series, all the characters grow, change, and mature as they overcome the obstacles in their way. --li
