Momiji Fujimiya:
Sweet, well-intentioned, and cute. Momiji does the best she can when her world is turned upside down. She learns only at the beginning of the series that she has (and has lost) a twin sister, and that she is the Kushinada. However, she deals with this better than most, and becomes active in the TAC, helping to battle the arigami and help out as much as she can.

Mamoru Kusanagi:
Okay, so he has orange skin, green hair, and four eyebrows, but you can't deny Kusinagi is a babe. He is super fast and agile, and he can even make blades come out of his arms. His sarcastic sense of humor is part of his charm, though he could lose a little of his more perverted tendencies. Like Kunikida, he was devistated by Kaede's loss. Implanted with 7 of Orochi's mitamas as a baby - he was given the task of protecting the Kushinada (and therefore the arigami, since her death would put them to sleep.) Upon Kaede's disappearance, he begins to protect Momiji.

Daitetsu Kunikida:
Kunikida loved and raised Kaede as a daughter. Her disappearance pained him greatly, and he is therefore extra careful to protect Momiji. Kunikida is the person in charge of the TAC, and despite his horrible puns, everyone respects him greatly. His duel responsibilities are protecting Japan against the Arigami, and protecting Momiji from being sacrificed to put the Arigami to sleep.
Ryoko Takeuchi:
A marksman, even though we rarely see her second eye. Takeuchi constantly turns down the babe, officer Sugishita. It seems however that she has a thing for Kunikida - she actually likes his horrible jokes.
Azusa Matsudaira:
Matsudaira is a divorced mother, and a geneticist. She is prone to becoming very absorbed in her studies. In fact, Kusinagi has to threaten her to keep her from trying to study Momiji.
Koume Sawaguchi:
Koume (The Hurricane) was transferred from the National Defence Agency to the TAC - mostly to get her out of the way. Despite the pink jumpsuit (no I can't explain that), she is your typical over the top gun and explosion freak. The bigger the gun, the better. She relies on a shoot first, ask later strategy, and has little patience for other methods that may take more time and is never afraid to say what she is thinking.
Yoshiki Yaegashi:
Yaegashi is the typical computer nerd. Although he can do amazing things on his computer, he is rather socially awkward, he still lives at home with his mother, and even wrote a computer program to predict what character is on Momiji's panties every day. While Koume doesn't respect him initially because of his awkwardness and inability to use weapons, even she warms to the computer nerd when he shows how useful he can be.
Sakura Yamazaki:
Sakura is an American, though she comes to Japan as an idol singer and exorsist. She loves the spotlight, and mocks "The sacrifice girl". In her introduction, she has a mini-crush of Kusinagi - afterall, they partner so well against the arigami. She is as much a rival as she is a partner though to Momiji.
A babe, and a member of the police, he clearly has a past relationship with Takeuchi, and most scenes he is in (when they aren't dodging arigami) he is hitting on her, or pouting about being shot down. He is too good humored (and self-important) to take the rejections too seriously though, and is always willing to help out the TAC.
Murakumo:
An arigami with 8 mitamas, his role is to destroy "imperfect souls" - arigami who have gone feral, which occationally means he helps the TAC, but more often he is causing trouble... Particularly since he considers our beloved Kusinagi as an imperfect soul. His smug condescention is great fun, it is just to bad he doesn't get put in his place often enough - in fact, he whips Kusinagi's butt more than once.

Kaede is the older twin sister of Momiji. She was raised by Kunikida as though she were his daughter. At the beginning of the first episode, Kaede disappears mysteriously in a beam of light "to find out the truth".
